Registration

Is the website secure?

Absolutely!

I am new to CSL and I want to play, how do I find more information about upcoming leagues? (For example: Coed Flag Football, Winter season)

From the CSL home page, select "Play" to view "Upcoming Leagues." Leagues are listed under their respective sport. Click the blue links to dial into more detailed information about each league.

What is the minimum number of players I need to start a team?

Each sport has a different minimum roster requirement and can be found in the Team and Fee Info page.

What is the cost per team?

Follow the same path as described above, the answer can be found in the Team and Fee Info page.  Each team fee is based on a minimum roster amount.

What is the minimum age requirement?

Players must 21 or older to participate in CSL.

What is the deadline for registration?

The latest we will accept a team registration is 7 days prior to the start of a league, or until that league fills up. If you're interested in participating, it is strongly recommended that you register sooner rather than later because many of our leagues sell out long before the beginning of the season.

Do I need all my player's email addresses up front when sending invites?

No, you may add players as you receive their email addresses.

Do I have to have a team to register?

NO!  Individuals and small groups are encouraged to register, especially if they don't know anybody and/or don't have enough players for a full team.  Every season, we create "Free Agent" teams comprised of individual registrants for the league. We build the rosters and send that information to every free agent so individuals can contact each other prior to the start of the season.

Can I be placed on a team with my friend(s) or coworker(s)?

Yes! When you register as an individual, if you place the names of your friend(s) and/or coworker(s) in the comments section, we can place you on the same team.

What is the refund policy?

There are no refunds once a team/player has registered due to pre-paid field rental fees and insurance premiums based on current player numbers, administrative league scheduling fees and increased advertising costs to fill vacated spots. Teams with less than the minimum numbers will be combined with other groups and individuals.

  • Leagues canceled by CSL
Players will receive a full refund for any league canceled by CSL.
  • League games canceled due to weather
Unfortunately we can't control the weather.  Most leagues have 2 built in rainout dates.  We will do everything we can to provide a full season, however, if games are cancelled due to weather, no refunds will be issued because of pre-paid field rental and insurance obligations.

Your league fee is used to cover many of following things: facility rental, field utility costs, player insurance policy, office rental, full time staff, marketing director, field maintenance crew, onsite field managers, referees, referee training, field maintenance equipment, field lining supplies, sports equipment, website development, website hosting, marketing, advertising, league scheduling, tournament scheduling, league parties, league prizes, sponsor bar program and other costs that help us deliver a fun, well-organized product to our members.

Can I pay for my entire team up front?

Yes, during the registration process, the captain may pay for the entire fee upfront.

Are there any additional fee associated with payments?

All payments must be made 1 week before the start of the season.  Teams that have less that the minimum numbers will be combined with other players and teams.

We generally will begin sending information as soon as we know we will have enough players to finalize the "Free Agent" team.

During The Season

What if my team does not have enough players to play?

We want to avoid forfeits whenever possible, so teams are allowed to pick up players to meet the roster minimum - additional subs will not be allowed.  Each pick-up must be listed on another roster and may only play with a team once per season.  However, picking up an 'excessive' number of subs may still result in a forfeit.

What happens when there is inclement weather?

Leagues may be canceled due to weather conditions, dangerous or unplayable field conditions, facility constraints, etc. CSL staff makes every effort to play all scheduled games, thus we will not cancel games until absolutely necessary. Therefore, if you are calling/emailing concerning a decision on a cancellation, remember we will not have an answer until 2 hours before the START OF THE FIRST games.

All cancellations will be posted via our weather page www.playcsl.com/weather. If inclement weather develops during league play, CSL staff will attempt to contact those remaining teams scheduled to play that day/night. Depending on the time of cancellation, some teams will have to be notified on site.

When games are canceled, follow next week's schedule (ex. If April 13 is cancelled teams should follow the April 20 schedule for their next game). The games that were canceled will be made up towards the end of the season if time allows.

CSL reserves the right to run a shortened season WITHOUT a refund. CSL also reserves the right to schedule games on days other than your regularly scheduled league day/night if necessary.

My team is going to have to forfeit, what do I need to do?

Notifications of forfeits must be sent by EMAIL ONLY to the CSL office by 3:00PM Monday-Friday on gameday and by 9:00AM Saturday-Sunday on gameday.

This allows us time to notify the opponent of the forfeiture so they don't go to the park. A win and points will be awarded to the team not at fault, and any team with a forfeit will automatically drop to the bottom of any tie breaking situation in league standings.

League Playoffs

If a player is not listed on the official roster will they be able to play in the tournament?

No, every player must be listed on the online roster and have played in at least 1 regular season game in order to participate in the playoffs.

When will the league playoffs begin?

Typically, league playoffs will begin the week following the final regular season games and will be played on the same day as the regular season. In the case of 2 or more rainouts during the season, CSL reserves the right to host games on days other than a normal day of play.

How do the standings determine the seeding?

Teams are seeded according to forfeits, wins, losses, head to head competition, point differential, points against and points for. Any team with a recorded forfeit will automatically fall to the bottom of any tie breaker situation.
